Research
Published by high school fellows
Our main focus is providing research opportunities to driven high school students from around the world, supported by professors, a grants team, and a publishing assistance unit. Fellows research any topic they wish, as long as it relates to policy, politics, law, or the economy.
Every fellow is expected to publish at least once during their one-year term — on news sites, in academic journals, or through the Institution. Work published here stays available after a fellow's term ends, indexed against their permanent identifier.

Each entry needs a title, author, date, and a link to where the work is published. Send those and they render here and against the fellow's profile automatically — the markup and the Fellows roster are already built for it.

These projects are from the Institution's 2024–25 fellowship term and do not reflect current work. They were published as the Institution's highlighted projects for that year and are kept here as a permanent record. The Centers referenced during that term differ from the Institution's current structure.

LAI identifiers
Every fellow is assigned a permanent LAI identifier when they are appointed — a public locator for their body of work, in the spirit of an ORCID iD. It stays with the fellow after their term ends, and across any change of Center.
An identifier looks like this:
LAI-2024-0007-0
The first block is the year of first appointment, the second is the fellow's sequence within that cohort, and the final character is a checksum computed with ISO 7064 MOD 11-2 — the same algorithm ORCID uses. A single mistyped digit fails the checksum instead of silently resolving to a different fellow.
Identifiers are minted and validated with tools/lai_id.py in the site repository, and the registry of record is data/fellows.json.
